Celebrating the Advocacy Academy’s Launch Anniversary
When we realized the gap in health care advocacy: no centralized hub for how to advocate, no health care-specific training, no community for professionals—we didn’t just talk about it. We built the Advocacy Accelerator platform to fill it.
Last year, as part of our ongoing mission to fill the gaps we saw in the health advocacy space, we launched the Advocacy Academy. Our flagship course on the Advocacy Accelerator, Advocacy Academy is designed to help organizations streamline their training process for their volunteer advocate community: patients, providers, executives and concerned citizens who needed the tools to drive change but lacked the resources or insider knowledge. Because let’s be honest, if we’re serious about transforming health care, we can’t wait for the system to catch up. We must equip the changemakers now.
One year later? The results speak for themselves. Advocates aren’t just learning—they’re winning. And the organizations they are supporting are accelerating their impact. And we’re only getting started.

What Advocates Are Saying
From first timers to seasoned pros, the feedback is clear: This works.
“The amount of useful information that is packed into these quick videos is astounding. Information is presented straight to the point and is very easy to understand. Whether you are just starting out, or you are a seasoned professional that needs a refresher, these presentations will prove beneficial.”
— Anonymous Advocate
“The information provided in this course will make anyone feel like they can be a successful advocate – no matter who they are, where they live, or which rare disease they represent.”
— Kathleen B., National Organization for Rare Disorders
“I have done this for 23 years and this by far is the best prep for the Hill!”
— Judy N., WomenHeart
How Organizations Are Supercharging Their Advocacy with the Academy
Over the past year, we’ve been inspired by how organizations have embraced the Academy—adapting it to fit their unique goals and the communities they serve:
-
- The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) integrated the Academy into its professional development, offering continuing education (CE) credits to advocates while sharpening their skills.
-
- The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) made the Advocacy Academy free for members, empowering rare disease advocates to speak up effectively.
-
- Organizations like DPAC (Diabetes Patient Advocacy Coalition) and NephCure took it a step further—partnering with us to create custom content that meets the needs of their members, amplifying their grassroots efforts.
Why This Matters
When we invested $100,000+ to build the Advocacy Accelerator, we bet on three things:
-
- Health care advocacy shouldn’t be a mystery. The tools should be accessible, actionable and widely available.
-
- The DC market is behind. We’re borrowing the best models from other industries and applying them to advocacy. No gatekeeping here.
-
- Transformation starts with empowerment. If we want better health care policy, we need better-trained advocates. Period.
